Garmin fenix 5 QuickFit Bands - A Detailed Look

Posted by Brian Eller on
Let’s face it: style is important. We talk all the time about how fitness trackers and GPS watches are stuffed full of the latest features and capabilities, while sometimes shying over the actual look and feel of a particular product. After all, these trackers and watches are designed with the idea that you’ll wear them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In that case, it had better look good on your wrist.

Fortunately, the Garmin fenix 5 lineup is a strikingly beautiful series of watches. Between the fenix 5, 5s and 5x models, each one boasts a bold watch face along with the ability to sport a variety of different watch bands. Of course, people want to know: what bands do I get with my watch when I purchase it? Let’s take a look.

Fenix 5

Right off the bat, it’s important to know the fenix 5 version is compatible with 22 different QuickFit watch bands. That being said, you have your choice of four different bands when purchasing the device. The fenix 5 comes in your choice of a slate gray face with a black band, silver face with a granite blue band, slate gray face with an amp yellow band, or the slate gray with a black band, the latter of which can be found in the performer bundle.

Thinking of upgrading to the fenix 5 sapphire edition? In that category, you can choose between a black face with black band - also featured in the performer bundle - or a slate gray face with a metal band. No matter your choice, all fenix 5 sapphire editions come with an extra silicone band. The black watch comes with an amp yellow band, while the slate gray comes with a black silicone band.

Fenix 5s

With the 5s models, your watch is compatible with 20 different QuickFit watch bands, but comes in your choice of three different options. You can choose between a white face with a Carrara white band, or a silver face with either a turquoise or black band.

The sapphire edition also comes with three choices. There’s a black face with a black band, or a champagne face with either a gray suede or metal band. And just like the fenix 5 sapphire editions, the 5s sapphires come with an extra silicone band. The black face comes with an amp yellow band, the champagne face with gray suede comes with a white band and the champagne face with metal band comes with a black band.

Fenix 5x

Those deciding on the fenix 5x (great choice!) have two choices. Unlike the 5 and 5s, all 5X models are sapphire editions, so no need to worry. You can choose between the slate gray watch face with a black band or slate gray watch face with a metal band. The metal version comes with an extra black silicone band. Meanwhile, all 5x models are compatible with 26 different QuickFit watch bands.

The bottom line is, all of the fenix 5 models will work with more than a dozen watch bands, meaning you could wear a different band each week for four months and still have new options to choose from. And the best news is all of the fenix 5 models feature snap on bands, which is so much simpler than using the fenix 3. The only tough part is deciding which band to start out with, but trust us when we say that’s a good problem to have.
